Mazda 2 Hybrid? Toyota Yaris Hybrid?
According to the agreement between Mazda and Toyota, the new Mazda 2 Hybrid will actually be a redesigned and customized version of the Toyota Yaris Hybrid. In other words, we can think of it as a Yaris that has been made up in line with Mazda’s wishes.
It is also said that the production line will be entirely in the hands of Toyota. Mazda, on the other hand, will undertake the marketing and sales of this vehicle as the owner of the emblem on the front, rear and steering wheel. In this way, both companies will be able to save on the development and sales and marketing costs of automobiles.
When you look at the car from a distance or angle where you cannot see the logo, you can directly say Yaris. It may be surprising to see these two cars side by side, especially in Europe, as Yaris is already being sold in many regions.
In fact, on the way technology advances, such partnerships are no longer surprising. Because when the automobile market is so crowded and competition is at the highest level, no manufacturer has a penny to throw away. Especially in such a sensitive period when the transition to electric cars is taking place.
In fact, we have been seeing similar agreements and collaborations for a long time. Therefore, it is not new news for the automobile market. For example, Volkswagen Toureg, Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne are cars produced on the same platform. Hyundai shares such common platforms with Kia, Peugeot Citroen, Renault with Nissan, and Fiat with Chrysler.

Mazda 2 Hybrid specifications
Mazda 2 Hybrid will enter the European market with 3 different equipment options. These will be Pure, Agile and Select. On the engine side, customers will be offered only one option. There will be a 1.5-liter gasoline engine powered by an electric motor.
When the electric motor and gasoline engine work at the same time, the vehicle will reach approximately 115 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque. According to factory data, it takes 9.7 seconds for the car to accelerate from 0 to 100. In addition, the fuel consumption per 100 kilometers is said to be 3.9 liters.
