Stockach An area almost half the size of Germany: According to the government in Kiev, more than 170,000 square kilometers of Ukraine are considered contaminated by landmines and ammunition residues. One of the greatest challenges to post-war reconstruction in the country will be to reopen these areas to civilians.

Philipp von Michaelis wants to make a decisive contribution to this. He is the founder and head of the German-Swiss mechanical engineering company Global Clearance Solutions (GCS). The medium-sized company based in Switzerland with production in Stockach, Germany, produces remote-controlled mine clearance vehicles. The company has already delivered ten machines to the Ukraine, and 20 more will be added by the end of the year.
