Local and national laser weapon: GÖKBERK is on display!

The local and national laser weapon GÖKBERK, which will be exhibited at IDEF 2023, has already attracted a lot of attention. Designed as a mobile system, GÖKBERK can be used comfortably even in heavy terrain conditions thanks to the 6×6 or 8×8 vehicles it will be integrated into. Looking at the images shared on the ASELSAN official website and Twitter account, we see the system on a 6×6 vehicle.

Looking at the first information from ASELSAN, the mobile laser missile system is generally integrated on 6×6 vehicles. The system is able to search, detect and track UAVs with radar and electro-optical sensors, and also physically destroy threats using a laser weapon with a minimum of 5 kW (the system adjusts the weapon power itself). In short, it catches and follows the flying bird, and then destroys it if necessary.

The priority areas of use of GÖKBERK were determined as land and sea platforms. Examples of these areas are important airspaces, runways, border lines and border posts, headquarters buildings, transit routes of military-civilian-state convoys, etc. that need to be protected. We can give fields. In addition to these, GÖKBERK, which will be used in terrorist fields, will also play an active role in the detection and destruction of micro and mini UAVs used for intelligence purposes.
