Yuga Labs, the manufacturer of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, filed a lawsuit in the US District Court for the Central California District on June 25 against California-based artist Ripps and the founder of NFT marketplace Not Larva Labs, Jeremy Cahen.

Altcoin company Yuga Labs claims that Ripps has devalued the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection by producing counterfeits.

The company is seeking compensation and attorneys’ fees, as well as a decision that will prevent Ripps from further interfering in its possible economic dealings.

Speaking early Wednesday morning, Ripps said he suffered “a lot of regret” but would consider resolving the legal dispute if Yuga found a substantial sum.

Ripps, who made fun of the other party, made the following statements:

“I see it possible that one day they will wake up and realize the seriousness of their trolls, their incessant lies, and their disrespect towards other people, and that they have made a big mistake and do the right thing.

I also imagine they’re going to pay these people back, pay Ryder’s attorney’s fees and recoup his losses, and become a purely nonprofit. But given the current situation, they’re not going to do that.”

Louis Tompros of WilmerHale law firm will represent Ripps and Cahen as lead attorney.

Ripps, Bored Ape Yacht Club and creator of ApeCoin cryptocurrency claims that his company Yuga Labs is a covert Nazi supporter.
