Munich The production of the wiring harness specialist Leoni in its two Ukrainian plants is currently running again to a limited extent. This is happening under the strictest security conditions and in accordance with the will of the Ukrainian government and the wishes of the workforce, Leoni announced on Wednesday.

Leoni has two plants in the Russian-attacked country near Lviv in the west. The production interruptions also had direct consequences for Leoni customers. BMW and Volkswagen had to temporarily interrupt production due to missing cable harnesses.

The group employs 7,000 people in Ukraine. Leoni CEO Aldo Kamper said: “It is impressive and moving at the same time how determined our employees are not to be defeated.” Their safety has absolute priority.
