Berlin Christian Mayer has no doubts: Big problems are not to be expected this winter. German gas storage tanks filled up so quickly. The debate about the continued operation of the last three nuclear power plants (NPP) has also become superfluous, explained the top candidate of the Greens for the upcoming state elections in Lower Saxony.
So good news that Mayer announced on Twitter?
In fact, the situation in German storage facilities is good. The legal target of bringing the fill level to at least 75 percent by September 1st was already reached on August 13th. On this Wednesday, the German natural gas storage facilities were about 77 percent full.
The gas storage levels have now become a kind of fever chart for the prospects of the German economy. If the citizens only stared at the seven-day incidence of the corona cases for two years, the gas levels are now constantly being eyed.
