On the other hand, Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdag met with Albanian Minister Ulsi Manja regarding Özer’s extradition. During the meeting, the extradition of Faruk Fatih Özer, who was accused of fraud, was discussed.

The defendant in the Turcoin case was released

On the other hand, there was a development regarding the Turcoin project, which caused a loss of 1 billion liras to the citizens with the promise of producing crypto money in Kocaeli. Sadun Kaya, one of the names behind the Turcoin project, was released on bail. He was detained by the police in June 2018 with the Turcoin incident. Kaya was the only detained defendant in the case. Kaya’s bail amounted to approximately 10 million TL. Thus, after this development, there were no detained defendants in the Turcoin case. However, it is reported that the case will continue to be heard in Kocaeli 1st High Criminal Court.

Following the investigation conducted by the Kocaeli Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office in 2018, a case was brought against a total of 37 defendants, 2 of whom were imprisoned. Two crimes in particular stood out. The first was “establishing an organization to commit a crime”. Secondly, they became plaintiffs with the crimes of “Fraud of merchants or company managers and cooperative managers”. The number of complainants in the case was 1,176. The complainants demanded that the defendants be sentenced to a total of 3,530 years to 11,760 years in prison. In the hearings held at Kocaeli 1st High Criminal Court last year, it was decided to release Muhammed Satıroğlu on bail.

The court decided that the detained defendant Muhammet Satıroğlu be released on bail of 500 thousand TL. Satıroğlu, who paid the determined amount, was released last year. Finally, the authorities determined their decision regarding Sadun Kaya. At the last hearing held on April 28, the court reached a verdict about Sadun Kaya, who is now the only detained defendant. Authorities decided to release Kaya by paying a bail of 10 million TL. Sadun Kaya, who has been imprisoned for more than 4 years, paid the bail set on Friday, September 16. After the money was deposited, Kaya was released from prison. After this development, there were no detained suspects in the file.
