CZ did not specify what the CCTV program was about.

China has a complex relationship with crypto as it has banned crypto exchanges and initial coin offerings (ICOs) since 2017, but it is also developing its own central bank digital currency (CBDC) and recognizing crypto as a legal property.

The CCTV broadcast could signal a change in China’s stance on crypto, or at least an acknowledgment of its growing popularity and influence.

CZ’s response to his follower who commented under his post was also interesting. The follower said, “It may not be a bull market when there are Chinese involved, but it is definitely not a bull market when there are no Chinese involved,” while CZ responded, “I cannot object to that.”
