Largest shareholder MFE complains about management errors at Pro Sieben Sat 1

The German boss of the media group MFE is to sit on the supervisory board of Pro Sieben Sat 1 from the end of June. She calls for a clearer focus on the entertainment business.

Munich The largest shareholder of Pro Sieben Sat.1 sharply criticizes the management of the TV group. Mistakes are normal, but “a marginal stake that paralyzes an entire group shouldn’t happen,” said the Germany boss of Media For Europe (MFE), Katharina Behrends, the Handelsblatt. The media group owned by the Berlusconi family holds almost 30 percent of the shares in Germany’s largest private broadcasting group.

In spring, Pro-Sieben-Sat-1 boss Bert Habets had to postpone both the presentation of the balance sheet and the general meeting because regulatory issues had to be clarified at the voucher subsidiary Jochen Schweizer Mydays. As a result, CFO Ralf Gierig resigned his post.

In view of these serious effects of the comparatively small participation, MFE Germany boss Behrends calls for a clearer focus at Pro Sieben Sat 1 on the entertainment core business.
