Kyiv is preparing for a major offensive

The Russian defense ministry justified the attacks on Kyiv with retaliation for Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory, several of which the Russian authorities reported on Thursday. Russia previously accused Ukraine of firing at least three rockets at an ammunition depot in the city of Belgorod on March 29.

The Russian side did not give any information about the cause of the fire. Kyiv, on the other hand, said the ship had been hit by one or two anti-ship missiles.

According to experts, the incident has more than just symbolic significance. The missile cruiser was the linchpin of the air defense of the Black Sea Fleet. The fact that the ship sank – whether by accident or a missile – will boost the morale of the Ukrainian armed forces and is also a propaganda victory for Kyiv.

Poland: Border guard counts 2.76 million Ukraine refugees

Almost 2.76 million people from the country have sought safety in Poland since the Russian attack on Ukraine. This was announced by the Polish border guard on Twitter on Friday. On Thursday alone, 26,800 refugees came – an increase of eight percent compared to the day before.

Kyiv: Flixbus resumes trips to Ukraine
