‘Key Developer For This Altcoin! Left the Project!

A key developer from the Terra Classic team, the new version of Terra (LUNA), which caused a widespread crisis in the altcoin market in 2022, has decided to leave the project.

Terra Classic (LUNC) core developer officially leaves the project

Terra Classic core developer Tobias “Zaradar” Andersen was in the middle of a controversy triggered by the team’s latest funding offer for Q2.

It was noteworthy that the proposal required the team to fund $139.5k for the second quarter of 2023. Zaradar was expected to be paid a total of $40.44k over three months ($13.48k × 3 months) as the sole full-time developer on the network. Zaradar stated that he no longer finds the risk/reward ratio of his participation worthwhile.

He responded to comments about his departure being abrupt by announcing that he made the decision more than a month before he landed a new job after his second-quarter run. He added that the earlier departure meant he would not be included in the team in the second quarter. Zaradar also reassured that all the truth behind the final controversy will be revealed, allowing the community to fully understand the scope of their contribution.

Altcoin developer explains that his decision depends on the operating environment

Zaradar says the community needs to keep their developers happy to drive innovation and productivity. He also announced that he had found a new job after his decision. The core developer says money isn’t his only concern:

If people think it’s about my personal salary, they don’t understand what I’ve been trying to say for a while. You all need to learn to keep your developers happy and safe, it makes them more innovative and productive. If I have to leave to point it out, so be it.

Community reaction

L1JTF’s project manager, LuncBurnArmy, expressed disappointment at Zaradar’s departure, acknowledging his important contributions to the team. However, he explained that a job posting was opened to interview and select a suitable replacement.

Additionally, LuncBurnArmy announced that the L1 team will release a revised version of its Agora funding proposal, excluding Ziggy support and AI-driven side-chain development. He explained that these elements will be presented in separate proposals. The updated offer will keep the same compensation rate ($141,000) for Q1 financing.

New budget submitted

Despite the setback, LuncBurnArmy reassured the remaining members of the L1 team that they could perform the required tasks. He also noted “whispers” suggesting that other community members want to set up their teams.

In response, Rabbi Jebediah, a LUNC community member, came up with a proposal for an Agora for a separate L1 team, noting that these were not just whispers. The proposal seeks $120,000, $19,500 short of the original L1 team’s initial funding request for the Q2 run.

cryptocoin.comAs you follow, Binance burned 1.6 billion LUNC on April 1 as part of the 8th phase of the LUNC burn mechanism. LUNC price is down 0.50% to trade at $0.0001241 at the time of writing. Except for Binance’s token burn news, it has not made any upward price movements.
