Joint move from Apple, Google, Microsoft and Mozilla! The goal is to eliminate differences

The world’s largest browser manufacturers are constantly in search of providing better experiences to their users. Sometimes while using a brand new feature, sometimes they can be inspired by each other. These companies, which often compete with each other, meet on a common ground from time to time.

Russian media organizations RT and Sputnik decision from Apple and Google!

After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Apple and Google made an important decision about the Russian state-backed RT and Sputnik.

“Interop 2022” was established to eliminate differences

Browser manufacturers Apple, Google, Microsoft and Mozilla are collaborating for a more balanced web design. My companies joint software consultants Bocoup and Igalia agreed to work in coordination to make the work of web design technologies consistent across different platforms.

Companies are in formation to create a web standard to eliminate differences. So they introduced a benchmark they call Interop 2022 to evaluate how the web standard is implemented by different vendors.

Interop 2022 is based on the idea that web browsers from different companies should look and behave the same on different devices and operating systems. Currently, web developers grappling with browser inconsistencies will also be able to exchange ideas. Company representatives made the following statements in a blog post they shared.

For the first time, all major browser vendors and other stakeholders have come together to resolve the most important browser compatibility issues identified by web developers. With this effort, we will collaborate to develop tests and features for these areas for inclusion in future iterations.

In fact, the foundations of this idea date back to 2019. In 2019, major browser manufacturers launched a major initiative in the form of MDN Developer Needs Assessment surveys and a detailed Browser Compatibility Report to understand developers’ pain points. The idea of working collaboratively continues with Interop 2022.
