Johnson & Johnson stops vaccine production in an important plant – More fans are allowed in Bavaria’s stadiums again

After controversial statements by Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) on corona vaccination in nursing and healthcare, the Bavarian state government has clarified its line. One stands by the facility-related vaccination requirement, but it cannot be implemented in the current form. Head of the State Chancellery Florian Herrmann (CSU) made this clear on Tuesday after a cabinet meeting in Munich. “The federal government has created a regulation that, if allowed to run, would lead to chaos.”

A direct implementation of the plans of the federal government for facility-related vaccinations by March 15 in care and healthcare is therefore not possible. CSU boss Söder had spoken of the fact that Bavaria’s use of transitional periods would “de facto” lead to the suspension of selective vaccination. Herrmann now specified that the Free State also generally considers the facility-related compulsory vaccination to be correct, especially if it is introduced as part of a package with the general compulsory vaccination, as announced by the federal government.

Well meant is often the opposite of well done, emphasized Herrmann. An implementation would concern the health authorities and courts for months, since they would have to follow up on all individual cases of reported employees without a corona vaccination. “The federal government has not sufficiently taken note of the concerns of the base and the practice,” said Herrmann.

Incidentally, there are no deadlines for new hires in nursing or healthcare: “Anyone who wants to work in healthcare from March 16th must be vaccinated,” said Holetschek.
