Japanese stocks rebound ahead of US inflation test – More Asian bourses closed for public holiday

Investors in Asia are very much looking to what is happening in the US.

The Tokyo stock exchange initially showed stronger on Monday in hopes of a cooling of the heated US inflation. Investors are hoping Tuesday’s expected US consumer prices will signal a peak in inflation as falling gasoline prices will drag the headline index down 0.1 percent, according to a Reuters poll. Core inflation is expected to rise by 0.3 percent. Some analysts even see a chance for a weaker rise.
