Berlin If the leadership in Iran hoped that the population’s anger at the brutality of the religious police would soon subside, then they were obviously mistaken.

For almost a week, women and men have taken to the streets to demonstrate against the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini after her arrest by Islamic moral guardians and the Islamic Republic regime.

The protests are getting stronger. Enraged demonstrators are now even setting fire to police stations. And the death toll is increasing.

What triggered the protests?

It happens every day. Women are pressured by Iran’s moral police to comply with strict dress codes. Also with punches, kicks and sticks. But at Mahsa Amini, the violence has evidently escalated.
