Apple will introduce iOS 18 as part of the WWDC 2024 event to be held today. Before the event, a lot of information about the new operating system emerged. Latest leaks iOS/iPadOS 18 compatible iPhone and iPad models revealed.
iOS 18 compatible iPhone models
An X user, known for Apple leaks, discussed the distribution details of iOS 18 in his latest report. Accordingly, he claimed that iPhone XR and newer models will receive iOS 18. This shows that all devices compatible with iOS 17 will be upgraded to the next operating system.
iOS 18 support extends to iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR models using the A12 Bionic chip. Older iPhone models will not be able to run iOS 18. The compatibility list includes iPhone 11 through iPhone 15 series, iPhone SE 2nd and 3rd generation, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR.
In the leak, particular attention was drawn to the artificial intelligence-supported “Apple Intelligence” features of iOS 18. However, not all of these features may be supported on iPhone models. In other words, we may not see all the artificial intelligence innovations in models like the iPhone XS.
On the iPad side, it is said that iPadOS 18 will not come to the 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models. The first generation iPad Pro was released in 2015. The sixth-generation iPad, which debuted in 2018, will also lose support.
