Dusseldorf Borussia Dortmund (BVB) collects fresh money from its shareholders. The Bundesliga soccer team is issuing almost 18.4 million new shares and intends to raise EUR 86.5 million in capital. The BVB announced on Thursday.

The shares are offered at a ratio of five to one – five existing shares entitle the holder to purchase a new one. The new papers are to be issued at 4.70 euros each. The starting price on Monday was EUR 6.17, more than a fifth above the new issue price. Shareholders have the option to subscribe for the papers between September 20th and October 4th.

Investors reacted to the capital increase with sales on Thursday. The BVB share lost up to twelve percent to 5.30 euros and was by far the biggest loser in the SDax index for small values. In any case, the paper will be eliminated from the SDax next Monday as part of the index changeover.
