Berlin High energy prices are a burden for Germany as a business location. There are already warnings of deindustrialization. Do you share the concern?

The talk of deindustrialization is completely exaggerated. Individual divisions or companies may be relocated abroad, but our task is to shape the transformation in such a way that we can manage the structural change without structural disruption, even under the difficult conditions of the currently high energy prices.

Wouldn’t that require nuclear power plants to run beyond April 2023, as some have been asking?
More than the stretching operation will not come. It makes no sense to constantly question decisions. It is crucial that we convert our energy supply to clean and potentially cheaper electricity as quickly as possible. That’s what I’m concentrating on.
