The shares of Munich Re, Jost Werke and Rheinmetall have risen sharply – company insiders have also benefited from this.
Frankfurt Defense stocks were anything but en vogue a year ago. That changed with the Ukraine war, which has now lasted almost eleven months. The shares of the German armaments group Rheinmetall performed better in 2022 than all other shares in the broad European index Stoxx Europe 600.
Jutta Roosen-Grillo has benefited from this among Germany’s corporate insiders. The wife of Rheinmetall Supervisory Board Chairman Ulrich Grillo bought Rheinmetall shares for a good 35,000 euros in mid-January – and made a profit of over 40,500 euros by the end of the year. This corresponds to a return of almost 116 percent.
