Berlin Many industries that rely heavily on natural gas are concerned about short-term gas shutdowns. The companies accuse the Federal Network Agency and the gas network operators of still not having made it clear who will be disconnected from the gas network in an emergency and with what warning time. They fear being caught unawares by the shutdowns. The consequences could be serious. Federal Network Agency President Klaus Müller admits that there are uncertainties.

It is not unlikely that there could be shutdowns in the coming months due to the tense gas supply situation. The Federal Network Agency wants to avoid declaring a gas emergency level, but is preparing for it, the Bonn authority said a few days ago.
