According to the emerging information, India wants to become the new power of the industry by developing its own operating system.

India started work on the new operating system
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, India’s Minister of State for Electronics and Informatics, said during an interview that the government is planning a policy that will enable the creation of a native mobile operating system. Chandrasekhar said they are exploring the capabilities of startups and academic institutions to create this native operating system.
Making a statement on the subject, Rajeev Chandrasekhar said:
There is no third operating system that dominates the market. So in many ways there is tremendous interest in MeitY and the government of India in creating a new phone OS. We are talking to people. We are looking at a policy for this.
There have been many candidates for BlackBerry 10, Bada OS, Tizen, Windows Phone and WebOS, which have claimed the mobile operating system throne in the last decade. But while they were all working for this cause, they were either crushed by their rivals or disappeared one by one by doing something wrong.
Of course, there are still a few active players in this field, such as KaiOS and Sailfish OS. In addition, Huawei shows up with HarmonyOS, the new operating system that allows it to be placed in 3rd place thanks to its users in China and was implemented thanks to the US embargoes. However, it is said that this new system is not much different from EMUI, which has been slightly modified on Android 10.
So if India can launch this new operating system in the next few years, it will have a huge advantage to rank 3rd. But when we look at the general user profile in India, we can see that their job is quite difficult.
The biggest reason for this is that it will target users of Android rather than iOS in this country where mostly the entry and middle segment are sold. Therefore, in order to achieve this, they need to ensure that affordable devices and the low-quality hardware they come with work smoothly.
In addition, the 2nd big challenge will be application support. If any future Indian mobile OS is to gain a long-term presence in the market, or even rival trillion-dollar companies, they need to be able to offer Google app support, at least initially.
