Banks Association of Türkiye (TBB) with the Board of Directors Central Bank of Türkiye Republic (CBRT) President Hafize Gaye Erkan met on the announcement of the Medium Term Program (MTP) covering the years 2024 – 2026.
At the meeting, strategies for the future of the banking sector and increasing the weight of the Turkish Lira within the framework of the MTP were discussed.
In the statement made by TBB, the following information was included:
“Mr. Alpaslan Çakar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Banks Association of Turkey, stated that the meeting was constructive and very useful.
CBRT President, Mr. Hafize Gaye Erkan, emphasized their determination to increase the weight of Turkish Lira denominated items in the assets and liabilities of the banking sector.
CBRT President Erkan and TBB President Çakar expressed their satisfaction with the consensus of the Central Bank and the banking sector.”
