Sarsılmaz took an assertive step in the production of remote-controlled gun turrets by acquiring Best Defense Technologies Inc. With this cooperation, Sarsılmaz’s high-tech weapon systems in different calibers from 7.62 mm to 30 mm, which can be integrated into land and sea vehicles, will be integrated into the turrets produced by Best Defense.
With this move, Sarsılmaz took a strategic step in the field of robotic weapon systems, which is the future of the defense industry. Best Defense and Sarsılmaz, which have high engineering and integration capabilities, will produce remote-controlled gun turrets in 7.62, 12.7, 20 mm, 25 mm and 30 mm calibers under the “Best Defence” brand. The Koralp Gun Turret, which is in the inventory of Best Defense and will be produced in cooperation with Sarsılmaz and Best Defense, also has remarkable features.
Compatible with weapons of all calibers in the world, Koralp offers standard features such as laser range finder, day and thermal camera, ammunition counter, ballistic protection, manual operation, as well as advantages such as automatic target identification and tracking, touch screens, high sensitivity, high stabilization and lightness.
Nationally developed artificial intelligence-supported target detection and learning capabilities distinguish Koralp from its competitors. Sarsılmaz Deputy General Manager Murat Akalın pointed out the rapid changes in the defense industry and stated that Sarsılmaz will fill an important gap in the field of robotic weapon systems by keeping up with these changes.
Akalın stated that Sarsılmaz’s investments in robotic weapon systems, which started with Sarbot, will be further strengthened with Best Defense and will provide the opportunity to access the gun turrets into which Sarsılmaz weapons are integrated through a single channel.
Best Defense Technologies Inc. Board Member Caner Buğday expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with Sarsılmaz and stated that they believe that the gun turrets developed by Best Defense will be carried forward with Sarsılmaz’s knowledge and technology.
