Hyundai will launch 17 EV models by 2030

Wanting to participate in the great development in the electric car industry, Hyundai continues its efforts to stay ahead of its competitors in the automotive field. The CEO of the company, Jaehoon Chang, made some statements about the company’s future plans. Accordingly, Hyundai will launch 17 different electric car models by 2030.

Hyundai also makes significant investments in Genesis, its sub-brand for luxury cars. According to the statement made by the CEO of the company, 11 of the 17 car models to be produced will be launched under the name Hyundai, the main brand, while 6 models will be launched in the luxury vehicles category under the Genesis brand. The company wants to be a leader in luxury electric cars. So much so that last year it was announced that the Genesis brand would only produce electric cars.

The company’s CEO, Jaehoon Chang, includes important details about the company’s electrification plans in his statement. According to the statements, Hyundai, which aims to increase the production of electric cars, has invested 16.08 billion dollars in this field in order to establish new production facilities. In addition, the company wants to have a larger share in the global market with electric vehicles.

Chang did not elaborate on which models of the 17 electric cars he wants to launch in the next 8 years. However, he said that three of them are sedans, six are SUVs, one light commercial vehicle and finally one unique new type vehicle. The company aims to sell 1.87 million electric vehicles annually by 2030.
