Hyundai is developing cheap electric cars for Europe!

In a statement made by Hyundai today, it was said that it will develop a compact and affordable electric car specifically for the European market. Compared to the internal combustion versions, we can expect a model between i10 and i20.

Hyundai will produce small and cheap electric cars for Europe!

Today, Andreas-Christoph Hofmann, Marketing Manager of Hyundai Motor Europe, confirmed that a new electric car is coming. Moreover, he said that they are targeting a starting price of 20 thousand Euros on the price side. While doing this, it will not be limited in range and performance.

Of course, it should not be compared with 150 kW and above models in terms of performance. Instead, we should expect an engine power of around 80 kW, relatively like the Renault Zoe. With the new legislation, it will be subject to 10 percent OTV in Turkey for its price, which is below 160 kW.

Hyundai and Rolls-Royce join forces!

Hyundai Motor Group and Rolls-Royce Holdings will work together on an all-electric propulsion aircraft.

In this direction, if we make a rough price estimation over the exchange rate valid as of July 19, we can say that it will be between 450 and 500 thousand TL. Of course, with the additional battery pack and long range or optional features, this price will increase even more.

The vehicle’s release date remains unclear. But Hofmann is confident that won’t happen this year or next. Because he says that the development activities of the vehicle have just begun. Accordingly, its arrival in Turkey is expected to be in the second half of 2024 or around 2025 at the earliest.

Of course, until 2025, Turkey will go a long way in terms of electric transformation. Togg will be on the road in the first quarter of next year. Tesla is also officially entering the market before the end of this year. In addition, more than 10 companies have rolled up their sleeves for charging stations.

In other words, when we come to 2025, we expect to see dozens of new models, not just the appropriate electric car developed by Hyundai. This includes vehicles introduced by many Asian and European companies but not brought to our country.
