Turkey has the largest and strongest army in its region. However, this situation causes their needs to be equally large. Moreover, due to the fact that it was excluded from programs such as the F-35, which it was involved in, and that it was exposed to embargoes, the burden on the defense industry gradually increased.

Hürjet, which will pave the way for the National Combat Aircraft (MMU), also known as TFX, which is the fifth generation jet fighter, will be used in combat readiness transition training and close air support missions.

Of course, this aircraft will have state-of-the-art equipment, even though it is for training purposes in terms of its class. In other words, when we go to the cockpit, we will see a structure and design similar to the systems found in the F-35. Moreover, as a platform, it will pave the way as the predecessor of future generations and jets of different classes, just as in Atak helicopters.

For example, many technological components and hardware planned to be used in the model known as TFX, that is, Turkish Fighter, but recently named MMU (National Combat Aircraft), will be used in Hürjet for the first time. This allows projects like MMU to come one after another in a short time.

The first flight date announced for Hürjet, which has left the hangar as of today, is March 18, 2023. After extensive tests, its entry into the inventory and its use by the Air Force Command will take place in 2025.
