Hungary MB to EU: “It’s Time, Ban Cryptocurrencies”

Countries cryptocurrency While discussing the regulations for the units, contradictory voices continue to rise.

After the Central Bank of Russia, a ban call came from Hungary.

In the warning issued recently, signed by Matolcsy, the head of the Hungarian Central Bank, “In the European Union, cryptocurrency trading and mining It’s time to ban it.”

Here’s the full warning:

IT’S TIME TO PROHIBIT CRYPTO TRADING AND MINING IN THE EU

“China declared all cryptocurrency activities illegal last September, and Russia’s central bank has proposed to ban crypto trading and mining.

I fully agree with the proposal and also support the idea that the top EU financial regulator should ban the EU’s mining methods used to generate most new bitcoins.

It is clear that cryptocurrencies can serve illegal activities and tend to form financial pyramids (ponzi). The central bank of Russia is right when it says that “the rapid growth and market value of cryptocurrencies is primarily defined by speculative demand for future growth that creates bubbles.”

The EU must act together to prevent the formation of new financial pyramids and financial bubbles. EU citizens and companies will be allowed to own cryptocurrencies abroad, and regulators will monitor their holdings.

Chairman Matolcsy, Central Bank of Hungary”
