A Wi-Fi Mesh network is one of the best options for those who want to improve their network coverage anywhere at home or at work. Wherever you are, you can find a good signal, because you will always be given the shortest possible route, or the one that is least saturated at the moment. Based on where you are or the number of connected devices, the satellite system quickly and in real time decides which node you need to connect to to have the best signal and best power on the go.

Another advantage of this type of system is that it has a very simple installation in terms of satellite system. Unlike other repeaters, they only need to be connected to a power cable and are easily managed via their proprietary software or intuitive apps. It does not require a very technical installation and can be installed by any user, even if they do not have advanced technical knowledge.

In addition, Wi-Fi Mesh equipment does not use the same bands reserved for the Wi-Fi network in the communication between the router or the base and the nodes, thus avoiding network congestion and possible interference with radio waves in wireless communication.

Another advantage is that existing Wi-Fi Mesh systems are usually stylishly designed devices that will not spoil the decoration or aesthetics of the home, office or room itself.

Disadvantages of mesh networks

Although it is a completely recommended system and one of the best options for extending coverage, Wi-Fi Mesh networks can present some problems on a day-to-day basis. For example, it is possible that you are not placing the satellites in the right places and this can confuse the system as you move around the house. In an incorrectly set up Wi-Fi Mesh network, there may be times or areas where nodes really don’t know which you should connect to at the moment.

Although they offer a great solution for Wi-Fi coverage issues in large areas or homes, the reality is that very thick walls, certain electromagnetic waves and other external factors can affect the smooth functioning of the network and communication between nodes.
