Dusseldorf At the start Bill Anderson stays true to his style. This Thursday, the American will officially take up the post at Bayer in Leverkusen. The employees experience him on this day, as always, dressed casually in a shirt under the jacket, trousers and sneakers. They already got to know him when he visited the major locations in Germany, the USA and Brazil as designated CEO in the past few weeks.

The new boss seems casual and youthful despite his 56 years. In his first inaugural speeches and discussions with employees, he made it clear what he stands for: a new management style and a culture change in the group.

Anderson knows the most pressing questions he needs to answer. Is he splitting up the group? Can he finally shed the burden of the glyphosate lawsuits in the US? Since April he is on the Bayer board of directors and has had full responsibility since Thursday.
