How Silver Lake plans to put Software AG on course for growth

Dusseldorf At Software AG’s Capital Markets Day on Tuesday, top managers almost jumped in confidence. CEO Sanjay Brahmawar was full of “enthusiasm”, product director Stefan Sigg spoke of a “Tesla effect”, CFO Matthias Heiden of “accelerated growth”.

On a total of 38 pages, the management team presented their view of things to the investors and confirmed the goals, which are not new but ambitious: Sales should increase from 834 million last year to one billion euros in 2023, and then to 1.5 billion in the years thereafter to climb euros. The profit margin is also expected to rise sharply, from almost 20 percent in 2021 to up to 30 percent in the coming year.

It would be a turning point. The second-largest IT company in Germany after SAP in terms of sales would wake up from a deep sleep. For almost ten years, the share did not move, which is an amazing achievement in times of digitization and the tech boom on the capital markets.
