Berlin Ukraine’s parliament on Thursday approved a law confiscating Russian-held assets. Accordingly, real estate belonging to the Russian state or Russian citizens can also be confiscated. France wants to confiscate villas and luxury cars from Russians close to the government, and luxury yachts have already been confiscated. Many rich Russians have summer residences on the French Côte d’Azur.

The British capital is sometimes derided as “Londongrad” because Russian oligarchs feel comfortable there, especially in Westminster, and are said to be busy laundering money. But Great Britain is struggling in this regard. London recently imposed sanctions on eight Russian super-rich and Putin confidants.

And Berlin, where Russian money has also been welcome up to now?

The “Alexander”, also known as “Berlin’s Capital Tower”, has been under construction here for years, a high-rise building on Alexanderplatz owned by the Russian Monarch Group. The first visualizations were already distributed in 2018, but the apartments planned for sale there have not yet been sold.
