Dogecoin (DOGE) founder Billy Markus revealed how much money he makes from DOGE in a recent tweet. According to the tweet he shared, Markus stated that he sold his DOGEs in 2015 to pay his rent. Surprisingly, his income from the tokens he sold at that time was only $3000. Although Dogecoin is known today as a multi-billion dollar project, it’s pretty incredible that its founder only made a few thousand dollars.
people always call me out for being salty
of course i’m salty! i made like 3 grand total directly from making a crypto that had a market cap of 80 billion dollars
watching scammers and shady crap make millions all day + strangers attacking me all day, who wouldn’t be salty ð€£

Billy MarkusHe no longer has any control over Dogecoin (DOGE) and it is annoying that people come to him and ask him to make them rich.
Tired of Scammers Using Dogecoin Name!
In some recent incidents, Dogecoin influencer Matt Wallace was accused by Markus of rug pull (a method by which rogue cryptocurrency developers ditch after they raise the value), even if it means pulling a rug. Wallace had wanted to start a crypto project called âAccept Dogeâ but changed it to âAccept Cryptoâ after backlash from the Dogecoin community. The token was released on March 29 and the project was an absolute failure. The token instantly solidified and tanked by 99%.
It is a well-known fact that scammers abound in the crypto space and often walk away with large sums of money. That’s exactly what Markus is talking about when he says he’s tired of scammers being “well rewarded” for their crimes.
It’s always exciting to hear about new projects and their benefits, but it’s important to do careful research before investing time and capital into them.
