With X.Ai, the billionaire wants to get to the bottom of the secrets of the world – and probably also fulfill a promise made by Tesla that has so far been impossible to keep.

New York, Dusseldorf X.com was the name of the financial service with which Elon Musk laid the foundation for his fortune – better known as PayPal since a merger at the turn of the millennium. The “X” is Musk’s constant: Whether SpaceX, the Model X or his son with the pop singer Grimes X Æ A-12 – the letter marks the important things for him. “It’s simple, direct and no fuss,” the billionaire once explained his preference.

In his latest project, the X is involved again. And with the start-up X.AI, Musk wants to develop nothing less than a new artificial intelligence (AI). He calls it “TruthGPT”, alluding to ChatGPT, the language AI from the Microsoft partner company OpenAI. Ever since they were presented in the fall, the world has been discussing the opportunities and risks of this type of new generative AI model.
