A Part of 100 Billion Flare (FLR) Tokens Will Be Distributed to Ripple (XRP) Holders in the First Stage
At the start of the Flare Network, 100 billion Flare tokens will be created, of which 45 billion can be claimed by XRP holders.
The claim period will end when all Flare tokens have been claimed or burned. It is reported that unclaimed tokens will be automatically burned.
FLR tokens will be distributed to users holding XRP tokens in their wallet or on supporting exchanges on December 12, 2020.
XRP holders can use a self-custody wallet like Ledger or Metamask to claim Flare tokens. The airdrop will start on January 10th at 02:59 Turkish time and will take a few hours to complete.

During this process, the first 15% of the airdrop will be distributed. The remaining 85% will be distributed monthly after the FIP01 management proposal is finalized. The exact distribution method for the remaining 85% will be determined by the management proposal.
XRP holders who stored their funds on a participating exchange on December 12, 2020 are also Flare (FLR). altcoin will qualify for the airdrop. Many exchanges have announced that they will participate in the distribution of the airdrop to their customers without delay.
FLR, formerly Spark token, is the native token of Flare Network and was created by an XRP utility fork. The Spark token can be used for spam control on the network, as collateral in decentralized applications (DApps), to contribute to an oracle, or as a management method on the Flare network.
