Honda in the next 8 years 30 different EV models with an annual production volume of more than 2 million units. It plans to release it worldwide. Having signed many important collaborations recently, Honda has partnered with Hanwa Co., Ltd., a large commercial company based in Japan, for its new electric vehicle series. (Hanwa) and LG Chem, one of the world’s largest chemical companies, announced their collaboration.
Continuing its strategy of transitioning to electric, Honda signed a strategic partnership with Hanwa in order to regularly supply the necessary metals to the batteries it will use in its new electric vehicles.

Honda and Sony announced that they will establish a company under the joint venture agreement announced in March 2022.
LG Chem to establish manufacturing facility in Ohio
Through this partnership, Honda will ensure that Hanwa secures the base metals required for batteries such as nickel, cobalt and lithium in the medium and long term, ensuring a regular supply of resources.
Honda also announced that it will build a manufacturing facility in the US with LG Chem to manufacture batteries for its new line of electric vehicles, which it plans to launch in 2030. Aiming to start mass production of lithium-ion battery cells by 2023, Honda and LG Chem plan to establish their production facility in Ohio, which will have an annual production capacity of approximately 40GWh.
Working with a wide range of suppliers to ensure the necessary resources are regularly supplied, Honda will continue to sign new collaborations to achieve its carbon neutral target and to carry out its strategy of transitioning to electric without interruption.
