Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced that Turkey has made a significant breakthrough in industrial production. In particular, the 34.4 percent annual increase in high technology production shows that the country is moving towards the National Technology Move targets. This rise also shows that Turkey’s growth strategy by producing added value has begun to bear fruit.

According to March industrial production index data, industrial production increased by 4.3 percent on an annual basis. The locomotive of this increase was high technology products. In addition to the positive picture in industrial production, there are also pleasing developments on the employment front. As of March 2024, the unemployment rate decreased to 8.6 percent, a decrease of 1.4 points compared to the same period of the previous year. The improvement in the youth unemployment rate has a significant share in this decrease. The youth unemployment rate fell to 15.1 percent, reaching its lowest level in nearly 12 years.
