Today, the 52-item bag bill was discussed in the Plan and Budget Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Here, it has been voted to delete the mask penalty written to people who do not wear masks during the Covid-19 pandemic, which we have left behind, and the interest amount in the repayment process of students who receive KYK loans.
KYK loan interest has been deleted! Now only principal will be paid
According to what was quoted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, there are currently 881 thousand undergraduate students actively using KYK student loans. This number reaches 3 million with those who have passed the payment process. Unlike scholarships, the relevant credit is provided to every applicant and student who meets the conditions.
It was said that a loan of 850 TL was given to university students, 1,700 TL to graduate students, and 2 thousand 550 TL to doctoral students. When the education period ends, the people who receive this loan can request a postponement if they do not start a job with insurance in 2 years.
According to the decision taken in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey today, the interest rate will be deducted from the amount owed by those who have not yet completed the payment process. This means that only the principal will be repaid. In addition, the same process will continue in new periods.

We have left behind the pandemic period. Although the necessary precautions continue to be taken in health institutions, most of the people have been vaccinated or survived the disease. In fact, the masks that we were used to living together for a while no longer come to our minds.
However, we still have in mind the criminal actions applied because of the mask. Because in the past period, many issues such as the legality or cancellation of these penalties have come to the fore. That’s why millions of people haven’t paid the fine yet. As far as we can see, they made the most logical choice. Because, with the decision taken in the Parliament today, the mask penalty was also deleted.
