Rolling up its sleeves for domestic automobile production, HABAŞ actually made the first direct investment in the automotive sector with the facilities it bought. In the past 70 years, it appeared before us as a distributor of medical-industrial gas, electricity, steel, cylinder and heavy machinery sectors, as well as LNG/CNG type natural gases and LPG. Therefore, let’s say that it is a very well-established company.
When Honda first bought the factory, many people said that they would change these facilities in line with their needs. But it turned out that the plan of HABAŞ was to produce domestic vehicles. Of course, many details are not known yet. However, it was shared that the last step was reached.
The transformation process of HABAŞ’s old Honda facilities has been completed. In addition, according to the statement, the necessary preparations to produce a hybrid vehicle were also carried out during this period. At this point, the company is expected to announce its upcoming calendar.
But as far as we know, the main plan is to produce a hybrid car with 2 engines, electric and internal combustion. Because it is known that the necessary equipment for this is also procured from Honda’s factory in England, which was closed.
Considering all these, we expect HABAŞ to introduce a prototype vehicle in the upcoming period. It is said that if they already have such a work, they will be able to go into mass production in a short time and catch Togg quickly.
