Munich The semiconductor manufacturer Infineon intends to expand its production capacities much faster than before. “In the future, we will decide on a major investment every two or three years,” production director Rutger Wijburg told Handelsblatt in his first interview since taking office.

In the past, the Dax group only built a new factory every four or five years. In view of the rapid growth, it is now necessary to increase the pace of investment. “It cannot be ruled out that we will push ahead with large projects at the same time,” explained the manager. So far, the Munich-based company has always built one plant after the other.
