“For me, the Catholic Church has always been a rock in the surf of turbulent modern events,” said Krämer in a letter to Hildesheim Bishop Heiner Wilmer, “the greater is my disappointment, yes, my horror at the undignified ingratiation of the fluctuating zeitgeist, which expresses itself in the diocese brochure for which you are responsible about gender-sensitive language. “
Due to the increased use of gender language, the Catholic Church is moving away from the faithful, said Krämer. In April the Central Committee of Catholics (ZdK) agreed to use the gender star for supposedly gender-equitable language. The “lay organization” became the “lay organization”.

The Catholic Young Congregation (KjG) even goes so far and doubts the concept of God itself that it is considering writing “God *”; the Catholic Student Youth (KSJ) already uses this version.
In times of unsuccessful processing of cases of abuse in the church and the restrictions caused by Corona, which affect many churchgoers, the church has nothing to do, according to Krämer, than to propagate the supposedly gender-appropriate language as a savior.
Krämer: “Instead of being there for the faithful and speaking their language, the Catholic Church prefers to follow a trend that drives a wedge in interpersonal relationships,” said Krämer, who is also Vice President of the NRW Academy of Sciences and Arts in Düsseldorf and is the spokesman for a Collaborative Research Center of the German Research Foundation.
