God of War Kratos teased CoD Modern Warfare 3!

During The Game Awards 2023 ceremony, Christopher Judge, known for his role as Kratos in the God of War series, jokingly made a reference to the story mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 while presenting an award.

The speech of Christopher Judge, who plays Kratos, lasted 8 minutes.

The actor, who won the Best Performance award with his eight-minute speech the previous year, humorously stated that his speech was longer than this year’s Call of Duty story mode duration.

“I’m not going to stand here and give long speeches,” Judge said cheerfully on stage. I’ll stick to the script. It won’t be an eight-minute speech like last year. But fun fact: my speech was longer than this year’s Call of Duty story,” he said.

Hideo Kojima released the trailer of his new horror game OD as part of Game Awards 2023. The production was developed with Jordan Peele.

This comment directly referenced the criticism Modern Warfare 3 faced for its relatively short and controversial four- to five-hour script, which was met with mixed reviews upon release.

Criticisms of Modern Warfare 3’s single-player mode went beyond its brevity to include concerns about shallow writing, filler content, and rigid objectives that punished players for straying from the predetermined scenario. Judge’s joke echoes the sentiments of the gaming community, who find fault with the campaign mode’s lackluster experience.

Following applause and laughter from the audience, Judge added another layer to his joke by saying, “Another company I would never work for,” seemingly making a subtle reference to the game’s publisher, Activision. This additional statement hinted at potential dissatisfaction or disagreement with the company’s practices, reinforcing the actor’s choice to stay away from collaborating with Activision.

Amidst this fun banter, Sony Santa Monica took the opportunity to announce free DLC for God of War: Ragnarok, releasing on December 12 for both PS4 and PS5 players. The Valhalla DLC introduces new combat challenges in a roguelike format, including horde modes and boss rushes.
