FTX representatives have yet to respond to requests for comment on the company’s decision to relocate its US headquarters so early or what will happen to the pilot program.
Speaking to Bloomberg on Tuesday about the move, FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried said setting up offices around the world is key to the company’s mission to obtain licenses for its various businesses.
FTX moved its global headquarters from Hong Kong to the Bahamas last September.
“Obviously for us, getting an open license for our outlets is the biggest part of the job, that’s what we’re focusing on,” said Bankman-Fried.
