Amazon begins work on satellite internet
After the success of Starlink, Amazon also started initiatives to provide satellite internet. The giant company, which plans to launch the first internet satellites into space in the first half of 2024, announced that it will start tests shortly after the satellites are sent into space.
Amazon stated that Project Kuiper, its satellite internet department, will begin mass production of the satellites this year. The company plans to position more than 3,000 satellites in low Earth orbit over the next few years.

Amazon plans to build the entire Kuiper network of 3,236 satellites by 2026. The company announced that they are making efforts to take half of this amount into space in 2024. It is predicted that the company will produce 3 to 5 satellites per day in line with this target.
The company also introduced antennas to be used by its customers in line with its satellite internet plans. Accordingly, the company’s customers will be able to choose one of three different antennas. The cube-shaped antenna with a side of about 15 cm will form the entry level of the company’s service. Amazon did not make a statement about the price of this antenna.
On the other hand, another cube-shaped antenna, each side of which is approximately 28 cm, will be able to provide 400 megabits of internet per second to its users. The price of this antenna is planned to be under $ 400. Amazon’s largest antennas, designed for corporate, government and telecommunications applications, will range in size from 48 cm to 76 cm. These antennas are expected to offer internet speeds of up to 1 gigabit.
