Istanbul According to a newspaper interview, the Turkish delivery service Getir is in talks about taking over the German rival Flink. Whether the negotiations could lead to a conclusion is still open, the Financial Times reported on Monday, citing people with knowledge of the plans. Neither Flink nor Getir wanted to comment on the report.

Grocery delivery services experienced a boom during the corona pandemic. Since then, however, demand has been falling, and rising costs are making delivery services even more difficult. A wave of consolidation began. At the end of last year, Getir bought the delivery service Gorillas.

The transaction was worth $1.2 billion. According to the newspaper report, Flink is looking for fresh capital. The company wants to raise around $100 million from its investors.
