The French President and the German Chancellor agreed to help each other in the energy crisis.

Paris After the exchange between Olaf Scholz and Emmanuel Macron about the energy crisis, the federal government was content with a dry explanation. After the video conference on Monday, the Chancellor said he spoke to the French President about “the situation in Europe’s energy supply and energy prices”. “In addition to possible measures at European level, they also spoke about Franco-German solidarity in the energy sector.”

Macron, on the other hand, spoke up in a press conference, where he urgently emphasized the question of Franco-German solidarity. “Germany needs our gas and we need the electricity that is produced in the rest of Europe and in Germany in particular,” said the French head of state. “This Franco-German solidarity is the commitment that we made with Chancellor Scholz.”
