Further price gains possible – but no trend reversal yet

Dusseldorf The past week brought a change of mood on the stock exchange: the leading German index, the Dax, rose by 3.4 percent to 14,462 points – its highest level in five weeks. In the USA, the leading index Dow Jones and the market-wide S&P 500 each rose by more than six percent. This is the best weekly reading since November 2020. So is the stock market correction over?

At least in the short term, investors can hope for further price gains in the week before Pentecost, predicts investment strategist Sebastien Galy from Nordea Bank’s asset management. “Investor sentiment and positioning suggest the worst may be behind us.”
