Fund manager survey: investors fear central banks

Frankfurt In the run-up to the current crucial week of the central banks, international investors were more cautious. Faster than expected rate hikes are the greatest potential risk to financial markets for 44 percent of portfolio managers surveyed by Bank of America (BofA) on a regular basis.

A month ago, only half as many investors had this concern. Since then, however, the inflation rates have risen significantly again. The inflation rate in the US most recently reached 6.9 percent, its highest level in 40 years. In the euro area, consumer prices rose by 4.9 percent in November compared to the previous year, an all-time high since the monetary union was established.
