Munich The extreme increase in fuel prices is taking a break. Prices have fallen slightly for both diesel and premium E10 petrol, as the ADAC announced on Saturday. According to this, diesel cost 2.312 euros per liter on a nationwide daily average on Friday, which is 0.9 cents less than on Thursday.

E10 became cheaper by 0.2 cents to 2.20 euros per liter. However, the ADAC currently sees no signs of a “serious relaxation”.

In the days before, fuel prices had risen by double digits from one day to the next, pushing them to unprecedented heights. The most important driver is the war in Ukraine and its effects on the commodity markets.

Since the war began a good two weeks ago, fuel prices have increased dramatically. Since then, diesel has increased in price by almost 65 cents per liter, and E10 by 45 cents.
