Free citizen test abolished: How was the first week for unvaccinated people? – Counselor

The free citizen tests have been abolished for a week. Anyone who has not recovered or has been vaccinated against Corona, but wants to attend 3G events, has to pay.

For the social work student Aaron Dicks (30) this means: three tests per week in order to be able to present a negative test when visiting a university, sports club and family in the hospital (applies 48 hours).

Cost: around 25 euros! “I find it understandable that such a service costs money,” says Aaron Dicks. He wants to wait with the vaccination because he had patients in the nursing work who became ill from vaccinations. “

Roman Bastian (44) from the pharmacy on Marktplatz in Krefeld says about the first week: “We test around 150 people a day. We didn’t notice any difference to the previous week. “

Who can test for free?

Corona tests for unvaccinated people have been chargeable for a week. The federal government has stopped offering nationwide citizen tests for everyone.

But if you want to be tested without having Covid symptoms, you now have to pay around ten to 70 euros (depending on the location and provider).

Are exempt:

▶ ︎ Vaccinated and unvaccinated people with corona symptoms or with a red corona warning app. You can have a free PCR test done by your doctor. This also applies to people with a positive rapid test result who visit a doctor.

▶ ︎ Children under twelve years of age (applies up to three months after their twelfth birthday.) Proof: ID card, student ID card or passport.

▶ ︎ Adolescents between the ages of twelve and 17 have a transition period until December 31, as they did not receive their vaccination offer until later. Proof: ID card, student ID card or passport.

You can find more exceptions here.
