Four tips for a longer life

I read on the online portal “Futurezone” how you can increase your life expectancy with five simple tricks. I’m not sure how reputable the source is, but I still want to share the tips here.

When it comes to extending life, you can never know enough. The first tip is to juggle lemons and walk backwards down the stairs. I would have thought that walking backwards down the stairs would have a rather life-limiting effect, but the science has progressed.

It’s about variety. The variety creates new connections in the brain and keeps the thinking organ fit. Other life extension tips relate to food. So it’s good to eat nuts: Brazil nuts are full of unsaturated fatty acids and selenium, and cashew nuts, which contain vitamin B, and macadamia nuts, full of calcium, iron and magnesium, are also highly recommended.

In addition, you should eat anything that contains spermidine. According to the text, spermidine is an endogenous substance that removes cellular debris from the body. However, the spermidine concentration in the body decreases with age. Experiments with fruit flies have shown that a spermidine-rich diet can prolong life. It is not entirely clear whether all knowledge about fruit flies can be extrapolated to ancient humans.

Fruit flies eat a lot of fruit, which is said to be very healthy. Despite this, they are only 14 days old. In addition, spermidine is mainly contained in wheat bran, so living longer might not be that much fun.

In addition to nutrition, sleep seems to be a life-prolonging factor. People should sleep a lot – but not too much. Those who sleep less than four and a half hours die earlier. However, those who sleep longer than eight hours do too. And the risk of death increases by another 30 percent if you sleep more than 10 hours. Finally, it increases to one hundred percent when one has laid down in the famous eternal rest.

Those who consistently avoid them live longer. says science. Another tip for living longer is slow breathing. Because slow breathing reduces stress, and stress reduces life expectancy. The 4711 method is recommended here: breathe in for four seconds and breathe out for seven seconds. And the whole thing eleven times in a row – reduces stress.

I would say, however, that it also depends a bit on the source of stress. For example, if you are being chased by a wild boar, the 4711 method is less helpful. I wouldn’t recommend going backwards at this point either. However, I have not verified this scientifically.
